Hello, I’m Chris, the founder of AnxietyHack.com! According to the National Institute of Mental Health Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults in the United States age 18 and older, or 18% of the population. (Source: National Institute of Mental Health) I will take the liberty to throw myself in that bucket of 40 million adults. I’ve had a close relationship with anxiety over the past ten years, both directly and indirectly through immediate family members.
In 2015 the panic attacks and the physical symptoms of my anxiety freaked me out enough to schedule a visit with my primary care physician. I requested a full physical. About a week later I went in for my follow-up appointment. My doctor and I went over the results and everything checked out; he assured me that I was in excellent health and that it was all in my head.
Right after that, he went on to diagnose me with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). 20 minutes later I had a prescription for a Selective-Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) and was told that I was going to have to take it every day, pretty much for the rest of my life!
Over the next couple of weeks, I researched SSRIs extensively. My findings brought me to the conclusion that it was not the route I wanted to take.
That is when I became obsessed with ‘hacking’ my anxiety through natural supplementation, diet, exercise, taking care of my gut health, and meditation. My goal for this site is to gather and share the information that has helped me learn to control my anxiety and for the most part remedy it!
Here at AnxietyHack, we dive into the world of anxiety supplements, treatments, and remedies. We dissect articles and publications then serve them to you in easily digestible pieces so that YOU can decide what’s best for YOU!
Thank you for visiting, meet the team!
